The event Hands-on Bioinformatics Computer Workshop will take place on October 25, 2006 at OpenHelix, LLC in San Francisco, CA. This is a hands-on computer workshop sponsored by the UCSC Bioinformatics Group. The introductory tutorial will cover the topics needed to effectively use the powerful, free, publicly-accessible UCSC Genome Browser tool, including: basic functionality of Genome Browser searching and BLAT use, Table Browser use, creating and using Custom Tracks, and an introduction to the Gene Sorter.
