The firm’s past representations include working with biotech entrepreneurs and biotech start-ups, biotech consultants, biotech investors, physicians, internet-start-ups in the medical industry, medical technology and biomedical and health tech software/software-as-a-service (“Saas”) companies, and other technology-based companies in the life sciences industries. Our client base is both domestic and international.
The firm recently opened a Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Diego location to better serve Southern California-based clients, and an Atlanta, Georgia location to better serve Southeastern-based clients.

Kristie’s practice focuses on representing technology companies in SaaS, tech transactions, health tech transactions, life sciences transactions & intellectual property licensing matters. She routinely works with clients in the biotech, medical technology, and life sciences industries.
Prior to opening her own firm, Kristie was in the licensing group of the highly regarded New York-based intellectual property firm of Pennie & Edmonds LLP in Palo Alto, CA. Kristie started her legal career in Atlanta, GA.
Kristie is licensed to practice law in the states of California and Georgia.
Education
Kristie is a graduate of Vanderbilt University School of Law in Nashville, Tennessee, where she received her J.D. in 1998, and a graduate of Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina, where she received a B.A summa cum laude in Political Science and Spanish in 1995. She also studied as an undergraduate student at the Universidad de Nebrissenssis in Madrid, Spain in 1993.
Business and Legal Affiliations
Kristie has been actively involved in numerous professional organizations during her legal career. Kristie currently serves on the business management committee for VC Taskforce, and is a member of the San Jose II Chapter of ProVisors, where she serves on the Silicon Valley Mergers & Acquisitions Affinity Group, the East Bay Attorneys Affinity Group, and the Silicon Valley Attorneys Affinity Group. She is also a member of the Northern California Chapter of the Healthcare Information & Management Systems Society (“HIMSS”), and she serves as a member of the Health Information & Technology Practice Group of the American Health Lawyers Association (“AHLA”).
Kristie’s past service includes serving on the Executive Committee of the High Tech Section of the Santa Clara Bar Association and the Programs Committee of the Science Technology Section of the American Bar Association, the Advisory Board of the Silicon Valley Chapter of the Licensing Executives Society, serving as Life Sciences/Biotechnology Chair for the National Association of Women Business Owners Silicon Valley Chapter, serving as Chair of the Programs and VOIP Committees of the Science and Technology Law Section of the American Bar Association, serving as co-chair of the Telecom and Intellectual Property Subcommittee for the California State Bar’s Cyberspace Committee of the Business Section, and serving as Copyright Licensing Subcommittee Chair for the American Bar Association’s Intellectual Property Section. Kristie’s other service includes serving on the Cyberspace Committee of the Business Section of the American Bar Association, the Corporate IP Management and Copyright Committees for the Intellectual Property Owners Association, the Fundraising Committee for the Entrepreneurs’ Network in Santa Clara, and the Life Sciences and Entrepreneur Venture Catalyst Program planning committees for the Women’s Technology Cluster in San Francisco, CA.
